Dreaming in Purple

I am submitting my painting of a reclining figure to the show "Color in Motion" because I believe it beautifully embodies the essence of this exhibition when seen beyond its surface. The figure rests in a reclined position, her eyes closed, yet her mind seems alive with grand and vibrant dreams. Through the application of color and paint, I aim to capture a sense of motion, where drips suggest gravity and splatters evoke movement. The motion portrayed here transcends the physical realm, unfolding within her thoughts. With this painting, I invite the viewer to delve beyond the mere image of a sleeping woman and reveal a captivating narrative that lies beneath the surface.
