Swimming Beauties

When I saw a colorful display of creature sculptures made of plastic in an Eastern Idaho museum several years ago, I was taken by the display of jellyfish, thinking, "One day I will paint jellyfish". So when I saw the theme of this show," Color in Motion", jellyfish seemed the perfect subject, with their constantly moving arms and tentacles. Images of jellyfish show a variety of colors, and the translucent nature of the animal fits with a transparent watercolor medium. It has been a fun experiment!
