This beautiful young lady is Tava, she competes throughout the West and Midwest in several different styles of dance in the traditional regalia of the Ponka Tribe. This painting depicts the Crow Hop dance and the second I saw her picture, it spoke to me. The movement of color is all around us and I love capturing it on paper through watercolor; whether that is a landscape, a bee on a flower or an abstract.
