Juror: Fonda Portales. Fonda serves as Boise State University's Director of University Arts. Prior to this position, she served as Adjunct Faculty in the Art Department for eight years. Fonda earned a bachelor's degree in English Education from N.N.U. in Nampa, Idaho' where she studied watercolor techniques with Mary Shaffer, and a master’s degree in art history from California State University, Los Angeles.
Entry Details: Entry will be on ArtCall, the fee will be $15 for one and an additional $5 for second entry. (Total entry fee for 2 submissions is $20)
40 paintings will be juried in the show from ArtCall.
Artwork must be original painting suitable for family viewing.
Entry must be at least 80% watercolor/gouache. Other water media is accepted but limited to 20% or less. Acceptable substrates include watercolor paper, yupo, masonite, or watercolor board.
Paintings must be limited to 1/2 sheet (16” x 22”) or 1/4 sheet (11” x 15”). Paintings smaller than 1/4 sheet are acceptable but will be framed in a frame the same size as a 1/4 sheet, with a larger mat.

Framing: Finer Frames will matt and frame all paintings juried into the show. The cost to the artist is $100 for 1/2 sheet and $80 for 1/4 sheet. Finer Frames will take no mark-up on framing.
Deadline to enter on ArtCall is July 24, 2023.
Theme: "Color in Motion". It is suggested you explain how your painting expresses the theme in ArtCall when you enter.
Registration: Your IWS 2023 dues must be paid to be eligible. If your dues have not been for this year, send to:

The registration on ArtCall must be received by July 24, 2023. Acceptance and rejection letters will be emailed through ArtCall on July 29, 2023.

September 28, 2023 - Closing Reception 5:00pm-8:00pm
September 28-30, 2023 - Pick-up artwork
* All care will be taken to avoid damage to artwork. IWS cannot be held liable for damages or loss. Finer Frames requires a 20% commission if sold. IWS will not request any percentage be donated.
